Cindy Klassen

Cindy Klassen has just won her 5th medal at the Turin 2006 Olympics. As I watched her step on the podium for that 5th medal, one of the commentators remarked that Cindy was having fun. In fact, she seemed to be on top of the world and that's exactly how it should be when you reach a goal, whether at the Olympics or in the Olympics of your life.

Most of us have been taught not to blow our own horn because it could make others feel less than. I invite you to learn to celebrate your successes. Surround yourself with other winners - people who live their life to the fullest and can celebrate you from a place of abundance.

Torino 2006 -real sportmanship

If the Olympics were created to celebrate real sportmanship, I hope the official from Norway who gave a ski pole to our Canadian athlete gets some form of official recognition because he deserves a Gold. I hear it's part and parcel of the training in Norway to help other athletes. You deserve a Gold, Sir.

Obviously, this official acted from the heart. What an example and a great role model.

The Winter Olympics - Fearlessness and Resilience

Where ever you are in the world, there is a good chance you have had a chance to watch at least some of the competitions of the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
What a wonderful occasion to view resilience and fearlessness in action by most of these young people. While all participants would love to stand on the podium, most of them know even before they start that they have very little chance to finish among the first 3 and in some competitions, among the top 10. I have watched many of the competitions, one of them the new snowboard cross where four snowboarders come down at full speed hoping for first place. The younger olympian, the more fearless they appear. And even when they fall half way, they get back on their board and finish the race.

Have you given up when you did not get first place? Given up on love? Given up on more success? How would a life coach help?

Can you imagine any athlete succeeding without a coach?

Transitioning to Fearless Living

As I celebrated another great birthday today, I took some time to reflect and look at the balance sheet of my life and I am happy to report that the pluses are far greater than the minuses. All the work has paid off. More peace of mind, more joy, more passion, and feeling beautiful inside and out. I reviewed in my mind the three or four life changing decisions I made. In retrospect, I see that I followed my intuition for all the major choices that have brought me to being able to share the results with you today.
Does fear still show up? Well, sometimes and I hope it continues because it's the sign that I am continuing to risk and move outside of my comfort zone. As long as we have goals and dreams, we will have to take risks to realize them and this is what makes the journey both scary and tremendously exciting.

Are you listening to your intuition?

Valentine's Day is around the corner. Remember to do something for you on that day.

What's going on in your life?

I was speaking with a new acquaintance recently and she confided that she was totally taken by surprise when her husband had told her he wanted a divorce to marry someone else. I know that some people can be pretty good at hiding their double life, but I also know that if we live consciously, we are aware of our surroundings and that includes the climate of our relationships, especially the ones with people we share a home with. I have heard similar stories before and everytime, I have noticed that the person sharing generally kept conversations on a light level.

The best way to kill a relationship is to avoid dealing with problems and the quickest way to do that is to simply remain unaware. Just like you must love yourself before you can know how to love someone else, you must also be aware of what you are feeling and be comfortable with it before you can sense what your partner is feeling. This allows you to address the situation. It's not a guarantee that all will be well, but your new awareness will help you to address the challenges and hopefully bring the relationship back on a healthy course.

Happy Valentine's Day - take the day to connect with yourself and all the people you love.
